VELVETY CHRISTMAS

After red on Christmas eve... GREEN!!!!!! Christmas colors all the waaaaay! And since velvet is so on-trend this season, I wanted to get my hands on those textured babies. This was the last small size in F21 and I forced the staff to remove this LAST piece from the mannequin display. The funny thing was, before the guy removed it, he told me "small po to ah!" and I was like "ARE YOU SAYING I LOOK LIKE I WOULDN'T FIT IN SMALL???" Hmmmm... insecurities are sinking in. Hahaha! Naaah, even if it had 'M' on the label, I'd still get it if it's the right fit.

So ladiesss, my advice (I like giving pieces of advice, though I'm not quite sure if you should listen to me hehehe): always get the right fit for you! Don't tell yourself that you'll buy one size smaller just cause your new year's resolution is to diet and exercise in 2017. Get the size that's right for your body type NOW and shine NOW! Do not wait for your body to reach ____ lbs/kg to shine. That's futile. You are beautiful no matter what your size.

Illuminate, my darling!

CHRISTMAS EVE

Though most know me as a modern woman, I still have a pint of traditions in my bloodstream. Hence, RED FOR CHRISTMAS!!! Every year, I try my best to dress in Christmas colors for December 24 or 25 cause it's just so appropriate (and FUN)! I've heard a lot of people feel awkward with wearing red or green on Christmas day cause they consider it tacky or corny... my advice: style like you've never styled before - they'd be gushing too much on the outfit to even notice the "corny" stereotype. Plus, always wear it with confidence! Because that is THE best outfit you can wear.

Merry Christmas, everyone!!!

MIXOLOGY

This is what I love about dressing up - you can mix seemingly formal pieces with casual ones, turning into one smooth outfit! Do not be afraid to mix and match. Gone are the days when 'shoes and bags had to match in color' and 'formal is to formal while casual is to casual'. In this century, feel free to experiment, girls!!!

THIRSTY TITA

So this was the outfit I wore to the christening of my niece, hence, #ThirstyTita

I was a bit overdressed... but whatever. It is always better to be overdressed than underdressed - in my defense, I am, most of the time, overdressed. (Plus!!! It was held in the Conrad hotel - so helloooo hotel, I had to dress up).

NEW WORLD

On days of ultimate trials in my life (ehem exams ehem), I was kept sane by serenades of Disney songs, one of which was 'A Whole New World' from the Disney classic, Aladdin. And the best way for me to show my love for an object is through FASHOOWN.

Since I do not have any pieces of Princess Jasmine's all-turquoise ensemble, I had to settle for what's available inside my closet.

1. The off-shoulder is a must!!! If Jasmine is the peg, this piece cannot be bargained
2. The baggy pants
3. The gold chunk of neck-piece

All I need is my thick black mane and my own magic carpet!

SPAGHETTI

I have decided to relive my blog for the month of December! I missed posing, editing, and writing so much!!! However, due to the time constraints that come with med school, I can only do this for a month. And then it's back to instagram and facebook posts for my fashionista ego.

Here's my take on the very on-trend layering with a slim tank top, also known as "spaghetti strap"! I'd like to believe this concept was initiated by designers and fashion moguls, but let's admit it - it was the Kardashians who placed it on the fashion history books. It was a few months ago when the internet was judging and bashing the sisters for this bold take on the spaghetti strap. Then, a few months later, BOOM! Everyone's doing it. The lesson here? Never judge. You might end up eating your own words. ;)

Also, let us take this time to appreciate how much fashion has evolved - gone are the days when spaghetti strap tops were just worn as camisoles or undergarments. Now, they're everywhere in all colors, patterns, and lengths; perfect for the girl who wants to show off her brazen shoulders. Seeee, another reason to love fashown!!!

I just had to post my sister's outfit cause proud ate here!!!! I am amazed by how she has grown into a lady of grace and a woman of fashion. With her newly-colored virgin hair and vast improvement on her make-up skills, she deserves a place on my blog. Pluuuus, super happy with her new love for exploring fashion and styling. Like this outfit, it's definitely one that I would sport. Again, PROUD ATE HERE!!!

Adding also, our super cool finds! They're both stylish and highly affordable. My white turtle neck top from a fashion house in Maginhawa St., Q.C. and Tricia's top from Grey Avenue in Taft Ave., both houses brands that we usually see in instagram or other online domains. Both are under Php 200!!! Admit it, both tops look expensive. ;) Cause fashion should not just be for the rich and famous, it is meant for all who are willing to embrace it. Charot! Hahaha!

CAREFREE

Whew! 5th block exams are finally overrrrrrr!!!!!!! It was the most exhausting so far in my med life. At last, I'm back in the arms of my fashion, my blog, and my free time. I have at least a month to relax, sleep, and just be carefree!

Just like today's post, though at sight the outfit doesn't scream carefree - kinda looks like the opposite actually - with its dark palette and constricted feels, but really I feel as free as bird in this ensemble! The dress was slim but loose enough to allow me to breathe, the flats are the best so I wouldn't worry about having to balance on skytower heels, and the hair is braided to the side so I would stop fixing my hair in place every now and then. This is one of the outfits, I can say, would be the comfiest I've been.

But of course, we are not going out of the house without adding a few trinkets. Well actually, I just had one - this beautiful necklace my friend, Sharlyn Guvean, gave me!!! But it was all that I needed. I love how playful its is with all its metal fringe and the design itself is extravagant but very light on the neck. It isn't as heavy as it looks. It made me look like I did more effort on the outfit than I actually did.

So happy to write again and to edit photos and to publish another post. Oh how I've missed! Nevertheless, I'm happy to be in a place where I can pursue my life-long dream. In one month though, I'm back to the aroma of caffeine and to the kisses of sleepless nights. Hahaha!
